Khalil Dolatyar - Registered Psychologist (Hornsby)
Khalil is a Registered Psychologist who works at our Hornsby Psychology Clinic and via telehealth (phone & video consultations).
He was originally trained in engineering, holding both a Bachelor’s and a Master of Science in the field. He later transitioned into psychology, completing his academic training and supervised internship in Australia, which led to his formal registration as a psychologist.
Khalil’s personal and professional journey has taken him across multiple continents—including Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa—enriching his understanding of human experience through cultural diversity. These experiences deeply inform his clinical work and have shaped his enduring commitment to the field of psychotherapy.
Khalil adopts a transdiagnostic framework, focusing on underlying psychological processes common to various mental health conditions. At the core of his practice is a strong therapeutic relationship, fostered through compassion, genuineness, respect, and a client-centred approach.
Khalil works with Medicare, Private, Insurance, NDIS, WorkCover and CTP clients.
He has worked with clients across the lifespan, from children and adolescents to adults in various life stages. Khalil supports individuals presenting with a broad range of concerns that are stated under the interest areas.
Outside of his professional life, Khalil is a husband and father of two young children. He has a personal interest in literature and poetry, which continues to inspire his reflective and empathic engagement with others.
